Unfortunately barbecue and bluegrass enthusiasts will have to wait another year to attend the inaugural event titled QGrass.

Festival creators Carol Cooke and Bob Kaspar have announced they will postpone the event in an abundance of caution. The following message was posted on the festival’s social media page:

Here at QGrass we’re not only crazy about BBQ & Bluegrass. We’re also crazy about safety and unfortunately due to the recent surge in Covid cases we’ve made the extremely tough decision to postpone the festival to next year.

Full refunds are on their way to everyone who bought tickets and signed up for the cook off and we’ll let y’all know as soon as we’ve set a new date.

Stay safe, keep on cooking and we’ll see you next year!

The new event was set for September 11 at Heritage Park but citizens will now have to wait one more year to hear bluegrass tunes and crown a city barbecue champion.
