Rams/Lady Rams Dominate at CC Meet

The Rams and Lady Rams dominated at the cross country meet held at the Jackie Harvey Track and Field complex this past week.

The Lady Rams Varsity won the meet while the Rams placed 2nd. The JV boys and girls team, each won gold medals, with their 1st place finish. Both Junior High teams placed 1st in their division.

The Varsity girls were led by McKayla Ramsey who finished 4th with a time of 15:26.31. Four Lady Ram runners placed in the top 10 and received medals. Abigail Bushow placed 5th while Sarah Cook took 9th and Sunni Randolph finished 10th. Hannah Seaton placed 20th and Lily Gillen, to come 21st place.

The Varsity boys took home the silver medal with Vincente Martinez placing 4th and Jeramiah McGowan taking 9th place. Martinez had a time of 7:03:1 while McGowan came in at 7:14:7.

Kyleb Carter place 12th, Jared Valle placed 16th, Micha Gray took home 20th place and Justin Davis placed 21st.

The Varsity boys finished 2nd behind powerhouse Burkburnet in the team competition. Graham took 3rd place.

Both of the Junior Varsity teams won gold medals with their 1st place finish. Hudson Hobbs won the JV girls division with the time of 16:51:02. The Lady Rams captured the top five spots with Jacquel Valasquez placing 2nd, Laura Sodsberg placing 3rd, Stephanie Leal took 4th, Aber Cook capturing 5th place, and Alleson Elder placed 8th.

In the Junior High division the Rams took home 1st place. The twosome of Gabriel Borjon and Michael Borjon took 1st and 2nd in the individual competition. Gabriel won in 13:19:33 while Michael took home second with a time of 14:29:33. Rogin Triangia placed 7th while David Velasquez placed 9th and Edwin Frias placed 10th.

The Junior High Lady Rams also won 1st place with Nayeli Cosme finishing 5th followed by Rhylee Knudson in 6th place, Citaly Lopez in 10th, Brooke Anderson in 11th, Lily Moon in 12th place, Yaretzy Perez taking 15th place and Elizabeth Cook in 20th place.

The Rams/Lady Rams will turn to the track on September 25th at the Burleson Invitational.

Head cross country coach is legendary Jackie Harvey and assistant coaches Rolando Borjorn, Harvey is in his 50th year of coaching at Mineral Wells High School.
