Lady Rams Sweep Southwest
The Mineral Wells Lady Rams were part of a three game sweep of Fort Worth Southwest with a 51-28 win.
The Lady Rams left no doubt as they blew away the Southwest Lady Raiders in the opening quarter as they took a 21-2 lead. Great defense and the hot hands of Lily Gillen and Addi Chambers who both scored 9 points on the night. The Lady Rams had 9 of 10 players to score on the night. Lel Alifa scored 8 points while Cadence Colwell added 7 points. Mineral Wells got 5 points from Brooke Bell and 4 points from Kate Bradshaw and Hannah Seaton. Kyndal McMinn added 2 points for the Lady Rams.
“The girls played with great confidence. We can have any five girls on the court. We have good depth” stated Head Coach Tony Raffaele.
The Lady Rams will play in the Hillsboro Tournament December 2th through December 4th.
The Lady Rams Junior Varsity put on a defensive rout, outscoring Fort Worth Southwest 28 – 0 in the first half. It was game over for the Lady Rams as they went on to a 51-12 win. Abi Buschow led the way with 14 points while Hailey McWorter scored 12 points. The Lady Rams got help from Kahlea Samples with 8 points, while Caylee Cloud and Elvia Sales each had 4 points. The Lady Rams got great defensive play from Sarah Cook, Jessenia Munoz and Jazmyn Torres.
The Rams Freshman team took a 35-19 win over Southwest. Nataly Garcia and Emma Boyd took control early, each scoring 10 points on the night. Ayla Jarmaillo and Darya Martinez each scored 4 points while playing great defense. Cheyene Bilodeau added 3 points for the Lady Rams Freshman.
