May 24 is Election Day and downtown developers are doing everything they can to encourage the community to get out and vote.

Food Truck Alley will open along NW 1st Avenue adjacent to the County Annex Building’s parking lot, aka Postons’s Square, where four permanent electrical hook-ups have been installed for mobile eateries to sell their fare.

Picnic tables will also be provided so that after voters cast their ballots, they can take a seat and enjoy some great food. The trucks will be open from 11am to 7pm when the polls close.

Downtown developer Randy Nix has had this vision for the community space years ago and hopes enough people will come support it.

“If the crowds will come out, hopefully the city will see the draw and make it a permanent site instead of just special occasions,” he said.

Adding to the ambiance through the day will be live Texas musician Jeff Martin playing tunes between 4-7pm.

Voting is from 7am to 7pm and is located inside the Poston’s Building at 109 N Oak. Palo Pinto County residents can vote at any polling location within the county. For a complete list of polling sites check out the county’s website. Elections Page
