Four Hour Standoff Ends Peacefully

Mineral Wells Area News watched as a police stand off situation unfolded over 4 hours in the 2900 block of SE 6th St on May 24th. The event ended peacefully after negotiating with a suspect in his mid 60’s who initially ran from officers when they approached his yard.

He was wanted on felony possession of a controlled substance charges according to Chief Tim Denison. The situation escalated when officers observed the suspect allegedly aiming a gun towards officers. Chief Denison explains how the scene unfolded in the following video.
