Back home from a successful trip to the Gulf Coast, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams on Tuesday used a big offensive first half to coast to their sixth win in their last eight games, defeating the Bowie Jackrabbits, 38-22.

Senior Cadence Colwell posted one of her best games of the season, netting 16 points on the strength of four made three-pointers. She was 4-of-7 behind the arc to go with four rebounds and a steal. Her season single-game high is 18 points scored against Breckenridge.

Mineral Wells’ defense held Bowie to single-digit scoring in each quarter, including a 17-4 advantage in the second period as the Lady Rams raced to a 29-12 halftime lead.

Freshman guard Aniya Richardson scored seven points, all coming from the free-throw line on nine attempts. Jaylee Newman added four points, with Addyson Moore and Caitlyn Colwell recording three points each. Emery Boswell and Rindy Carter each had a field goal, and Kahlea Samples added one point to the Lady Rams’ scoring line.
