Price Horton and Jonathan Blackburn produced double-doubles as the top-ranked Community Christian School Warriors bounced back from their second loss of the season to defeat Amarillo Collegiate Academy, 51-7, on Friday.

Friday’s Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship District 5 road win against ACA (3-11, 1-3) improved CCS to 20-2 on the season. It was CCS’s first district contest of the season.

The win came after the Warriors lost a heartbreaker in overtime on Jan. 12 to Trinity Christian, 58-51. The loss snapped a 17-game win CCS streak.

CCS is the No. 1-ranked TCAF team, according to Maxpreps.

The Eagles’ seven points was a season-low for CCS opponents. The Warriors held the Eagles scoreless in the opening period to jump out to a 14-0 lead, and led 28-3 at the half.

Blackburn scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Horton produced 13 points and also cleared 10 rebounds. The pair of seniors both recorded six assists. Horton had seven steals, six for Blackburn. Each also had a blocked shot.

David Blackburn and Braden Maness added eight points each for CCS, while Aiden Sipes contributed five. Sipes and Maness each had nine rebounds to go with seven from Blackburn. There were plenty of rebounding opportunities off Eagles misses, as the Warriors collected a total of 46 boards.

Jonathan Blackburn is averaging a double-double per outing, averaging 16 points per game and 11 rebounds.

Dallas Academy visits on Tuesday in a District 5 contest. Both games have scheduled 7 p.m. tipoffs.
