As Mineral Wells ISD’s Football Season begins to kick off, Ram fans will notice a few changes this year.
Friday Night Lights will look a little different in the 2024 season with some much needed renovations taking place at the stadium.
The football stadium seating has received a face lift on both sides of the field after a hail storm the previous year damaged several areas of the complex.
Coach Cody Worrell’s second year as the Ram’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach will come under brand new state-of-the-art stadium lights capable of producing dramatic light shows synchronized to music. Check out this YouTube Video to see a preview of the new lights.
The Ram Stadium seating will also look a little different as the faded red seats will be replaced with new black seats that will be patterned with a white MW in the outer chairs of the Homeside’s middle section. MWAN inquired about the black seats and the Texas heat.
“We thought about that a lot, but at 5:00 pm in August, our bleachers are mostly shaded by the press box,” said Worrell. “We talked to a lot of other schools about the black seats, and multiple said they had no issue with it.”
Other visible changes will be the fencing around the stadium and a new roof at the field house. The roof on all four stadium concession stands as well as the ones at the track & baseball/softball field were replaced too.
And finally the biggest change most will notice at the beginning of the season is the ISD’s move to online ticketing for sporting events.

Derek Rabalais with MWISD wrote about the new ticketing policy:
All Mineral Wells Junior High and High School sporting event tickets will now be sold exclusively online through Hometown Ticketing.
We are excited to offer individual sporting event tickets, reserved varsity football season tickets, as well as an All Sports Pass (excluding Varsity Football Games).
Reserved Football Season Tickets for new purchasers will be available on August 7th.
(And for you multi-sport/multi kid parents, the All Sports Pass is a wise investment.)
The Mineral Wells Athletics “All Sports Pass” is the perfect purchase for parents and family members with multi-sport athletes or those who plan to attend multiple events throughout the year. The pass will get you into any HOME JH or HS event, except for Varsity Football Games, for the entire 2024-25 school year.
An example would be if your athlete plays basketball and baseball. Instead of paying $4 for all 30 home events costing you $120, you can buy the All Sports pass for $60 and save $60!
Please note that they will still honor Senior Gold Passes, MWISD Employee IDs, District Passes, Student Athlete Passes, Coaches Passes, etc.
