Lady Rams unable to overcome Graham
Top-ranked Brock next on the softball slate

GRAHAM – Graham overcame an early deficit, rallying to down Mineral Wells in a tight 6-4 district win.
The game got off to a good start for Mineral Wells. Carsyn Presley struck a one-out single and scored on Aubree Yowell’s triple to right. Kynlee Harkins brought Yowell home on a sacrifice fly to put the Lady Rams on top 2-0.
The Lady Blues recorded single runs in the second, third and fourth innings before scoring a pair in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead.
Mineral Wells tightened it up with two runs in the top of the sixth. Presley reached on a one-out error. With two outs, Harkins smacked an RBI single and reached second on a Hailey McWhorter hit. Tatum McMinn doubled home Harkins.

Graham got one of those runs back in their half of the sixth, then set the Lady Rams down in order in the seventh to end the game.
Mineral Wells’ season record dipped to 15-8 and are now 2-3 in District 6-4A.

Harkins, Yowell, McWhorter, Presley, McMinn and Emery Boswell each collected a hit for Mineral Wells.
McWhorter started the game for Mineral Wells, allowing nine hits and six runs (four earned) over six innings, while striking out two and walking five. Lady Rams fielders committed three errors.
The Lady Rams will have their hands full on Friday when they go to play Class 4A’s top-ranked and undefeated Brock Lady Eagles (20-0-2, 5-0). Game time (weather permitting) is 7 p.m.
