MINERAL WELLS, Texas — Mineral Wells Fire & EMS along with other agencies around the county responded to a structure fire in the 1300 block of S Oak around 2:30pm on Saturday April 5.

“A portion of 281 was shut down while first responders managed the scene,” according to emergency officials.

“Electricity was out in the area along with some street lights,” a spokesperson for the city confirmed. “Electricity was expected to be back on at 4 pm.”

City Fire Chief Ryan Dunn addressed the situation early Sunday.

“There are not a lot of details at the moment. It is still under investigation,” Dunn said. “We have had to stage firefighters at the fire all night putting out spot fires.”

“The building had several add ons which made it hard to access the fire,” he explained. “I’ll have more details later in the day or when the investigation is closed.”

Multiple agencies responded to the fire according to county emergency officials.
