
Blue Bell has introduced a new line of protein-packed ice cream pints designed to help consumers increase protein intake while still enjoying a traditional frozen dessert.
The company announced Tuesday that its new Blue Bell PRO pints are now available in stores, offering up to 12 grams of protein per serving and between 33 and 35 grams per pint.
“We are excited to introduce our new Blue Bell PRO pint line of products,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, president and CEO of Blue Bell Creameries. “With this new line, our goal was to create a high-quality product that helps consumers reach their protein goals while delivering the great taste they expect — without the added sugar and excess calories.”
The new product line is available in five flavors: Chocolate, Coffee, Salted Caramel, Strawberry and Vanilla.
According to the company, the protein-focused ice cream also features reduced calories and no added sugar. Nutritional highlights per pint include:
Chocolate: 35 grams of protein, 340 calories Coffee: 34 grams of protein, 320 calories Salted Caramel: 33 grams of protein, 320 calories Strawberry: 33 grams of protein, 310 calories Vanilla: 33 grams of protein, 310 calories
Each serving contains 11–12 grams of protein, about 100–110 calories, and three grams or less of total fat. The ice cream also contains 18–20 grams of fiber per pint and includes essential amino acids from dairy, the company said.
Blue Bell said the product is gluten-free and contains no added sugar.
Founded in 1907 in Brenham, Blue Bell Creameries is one of the top-selling ice cream brands in the United States despite being sold in only 24 states. The company operates production facilities in Brenham, Texas; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Sylacauga, Alabama, and produces more than 40 ice cream flavors along with other frozen dessert products.
