Covid Act Now Website Says Palo Pinto County at Severe Risk
Locating up to date, reliable information regarding local Covid positivity rates, case counts and vaccination rates can be difficult to find.
The state DSHS website has tons of information but navigating is not an easy task. Thanks to our friends at Beneath the Surface News who’s publication services Erath County, Mineral Wells Area News has discovered the Covid Act Now Website for reliable data.
According to the site, the vulnerability level of Covid outbreaks in Palo Pinto County is very high. The Positivity Test rate is 30.6% with a daily new case average of 162.5 per 100k.
The website says, “Palo Pinto County, TX is more vulnerable than 95% of U.S. counties.
Communities with higher vulnerability have pre-existing economic, social, and physical conditions that may make it hard to respond to and recover from a COVID outbreak.”
The site quotes, “On average, each person in Palo Pinto County, Texas with COVID is infecting 1.22 other people in the county. As such, the total number of active cases in Palo Pinto County, Texas is growing.”
Over the last week, Palo Pinto County, TX has averaged 0.1 daily deaths according to the data. The daily death data is averaged over 7 days and it was as high as 1.0 daily deaths on August 31 when 4 deaths were reported in Palo Pinto County. Data for September 8 shows the death rate holding at 0.1.
Vaccine data is also reported on the site. It says “In Palo Pinto County, Texas, 10,518 people (36.0%) have received at least one dose and 8,854 (30.3%) are fully vaccinated. Palo Pinto General is offering vaccines at 202 SW 25th to anyone over 16 years old.
