MWISD Educates Realtors® on District’s Assets

Local real estate agents were treated to breakfast cuisine and a tour of the high school during Mineral Wells ISD’s first ever Coffee & Tours Realtor® Appreciation Event on Wednesday morning.
Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn highlighted just a few of the reasons why Mineral Wells is a great choice for homebuyers who are considering school districts as a factor when moving to a new area. According to a list of 14 top reasons, MWISD excels in everything from its Texas Education Agency “B” rating, to teacher pay scale, Advanced Placement and college dual credit courses, and the thousands of dollars its graduates receive annually in scholarships.
“Mineral Wells ISD is home to an award-winning Career and Technology Education program offering cutting-edge career training and industry-recognized certifications in over two dozen in-demand fields,” stated Kuhn. “These fields include automotive technology, drone technologies, advanced manufacturing and logistics, architecture and engineering, health science technology, audio and video tech, and much much more.” The program was recently awarded a six-figure Jobs and Education for Texans Grant in recognition of its long-standing tradition of excellence.
Director of Career & Technical Education Deeann Hampton gave a detailed description of the district’s CTE classes and presented a student-produced highlight video. In addition, high school junior Caeden Barker spoke on behalf of the program’s students, even displaying his personal business website as evidence of his education and experience made possible by the CTE program. Barker credited the CTE program for equipping him with the basic essentials needed to operate Barker Productions, his photo and video business which includes marketing services to Realtors®.
MWISD leadership hopes to make Coffee & Tours an annual event to assist local real estate agents in providing updated information to potential homeowners in Mineral Wells.
