Last week community members in Mineral Wells were allowed to meet-and-greet potential City Manager candidates applying for the position. Today MWAN has learned that one of those candidates, Nick Wells, is potentially being offered a contract extension to stay in his current position in Holtville, California.

Tonight the city council in Holtville will be voting on a contract extension for Wells to remain as their City Manager with a 2 percent raise and a $25,000 bonus paid by federal ARPA funds.

The vote takes place this evening, and if it is approved, it essentially will take the Mineral Wells City Manager position down to just two finalists.

Mineral Wells Mayor Regan Wallace says the council has the city manager position on Tuesday’s agenda for discussion and there is a chance that council will take action after reconvening from executive session.
