Lester Ray Cotton was born to Thomas Jefferson Cotton and Emma Ruth Verdine on May 15, 1949 in DeRidder, Louisiana. He went home to be with Lord on March 4, 2022.

He worked at Vulcan Material Company for 37 years. He retired in May of 2014 and he enjoyed his retirement. His favorite saying about being retired was“ I’m living the good life now.”

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Rusty Cotton, Lionel Cotton and Billy Cotton. Sisters- Patsy Guillory , Emily Cotton and stepson Arthur Burkett.

Survivors include his life long partner Cindy Johnson; children- Lester Davis and Denise Cotton; step children- Bennie Davis, Kenisha Richardson(Clyde), Johnny Johnson, Tonya Johnson and Candice Johnson; sisters- Hester Cotton, Vernetta Williams(Arthur),Terry March(Herbert) and Linda Cotton. He had 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He will be be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Per his request, there will be no memorial services. He wants everyone to remember him how he was.
