MWISD Announces Top Graduates of 2022
Valedictorian Emily Myrick
MIneral Wells ISD will graduate the Class of 2022 on May 27 and the first to cross the stage will be Valedictorian Emily Myrick.

Myrick, the daughter of Clint and Angie Myrick, finished her high school career with a GPA of 4.51. She will attend Oklahoma State University in the fall and plans to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Her activities include Student Council President, Principal’s Advisory Committee President, National Honor Society Secretary, Tennis and Volleyball.
Myrick says her most fond memories of high school will be the friends she made.
“I will remember all of the great friendships I have made throughout high school. I am thankful for the memories I have made in athletics and other activities with my classmates,” said Myrick.
When asked what advice she would give to younger students, Valedictorian Myrick suggested not being afraid to make mistakes.
“Mistakes help you grow into a better person than you were before. When it comes to academics and other activities, find something you are truly passionate about and become a leader within those groups. Becoming involved in athletics or school-related activities allows you to find your greatest support group in and outside of school. My motivation came from those who I surrounded myself with, and I am thankful to have formed bonds that will last a lifetime even when I graduate high school,” said Myrick.
Her list of accolades is long of course but the designation of McKnight Scholar from OSU is worth $75,000 and very prestigious. Her other accomplishments include:
Highest GPA in Pre-AP English I 2019
Highest GPA in Pre-AP Spanish II 2019

Huseman will attend Tarleton State University and plans to get a major in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.

He says his fondest memories of school will be attending sporting events with friends.
Huseman says he advises that all students get involved as possible.
“I believe that being as involved as I was, helped me grow as a person and become more successful in everything I did. I was motivated to become academically successful because I wanted the recognition that came with it, but during my senior year I realized that recognition isn’t needed and success is more important, and I want to thank my parents and counselors for teaching me that,” he said.
The MWHS Senior Class of 2022 will walk the stage at 8pm May 27 at Ram Stadium.
