Governor Grants County Firework Ban Extension
By Amy Bearden
Palo Pinto County Commissioner’s voted 4-1 to ban the use and sale of fireworks during the 2022 Independence Day celebration. That ban would only last for 60 hours so an extension was requested for Governor Greg Abbott’s approval.
County Judge Shane Long just received a letter granting that extension. No word on how long the extension is for, but it’s clear that it will extend past the Fourth of July weekend. Professional shows are expected to still take place, but this order prohibits the sale and use of all fireworks in Palo Pinto County.
