Rams Get Season Opener Win

The Mineral Wells Rams opened their 2022 football season at home against the Castleberry Lions. Despite a rough start to the first half, the Rams came alive in the second half to roll over the Lions, 53 to 13.
The Rams moved the ball well on the ground rushing for 570 yards. Junior Jose Garcia had an outstanding night carrying the ball 22 times for 320 yards, scoring 4 touchdowns. He was just 10 yards shy of breaking the school’s record for total yards rushing in a game.
Hobbs told MWAN the Rams will be working on putting the ball in the air more this week. Senior Quarterback Mason Facteau threw four times and completed one pass for 16 yards. He also ran in one touchdown.
This week the Rams will travel to Ft Worth to take on Western Hills on Thursday night.
