Each week Mineral Wells Area News will recap the previous game stats and notate any highlights.

Mineral Wells VS Castleberry

Offense

The Rams had 56 plays during their match up against the Lions for a total of 586 yards. 570 of those were on the ground and led by Jose tGarcia who almost broke a school record for rushing 320 yards on twenty-two carries. He also scored four touchdowns. P.R. Mendez had eight carries for 73 yards and scored one touchdown along with a 2-point conversion. DJ Simpson had two carries for 69 yards and scored one touchdown. Travon Berkins scored one touchdown on three carries totaling 18 yards. Fabian Martinez rushed three times for 27 yards. Kayden Montalvo ran the ball once for fifteen yards. Mason Facteau carried the ball six times and scored one touchdown despite two negative rushing yards and Israel Flores carried the ball four times for 34 yards. The Rams had three fumbles in the game.

Defense

Leading the Rams on defense was LB Blake Blue with twelve tackles, LB Fabian Martinez had nine and both LB Braden Ethridge and LB Adrian Allan had eight. DB Jonathan Hammer made five tackles. DJ Simpson, Kayden Montalvo and Shannon Rogers each had three tackles and Kristian Catola, Cainan Daniel, Kequan Cypher and Devlon Ellis all had two tackles. Kaden Speers, Kadin Villa, Alden Guzman, Tevyn Montalvo, Joe Hinojosa, Tristan Randall and Thomas Ibarra each contributed a single tackle. Kamron Sanders had one tackle and a one sack.

Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week was Jose Garcia and Defensive Player of the Week was Fabian Martinez. Special Teams Player of the Week went to Kadin Villa.

Next Up: Western Hills

This week the Rams are on the road in a Thursday night match up against Western Hills who just barely beat Maypearl 53-52 last week.

Need to Know Information

This weeks football game will be held on Thursday night at 7pm in Clark Stadium in Ft Worth. Spectators are required to purchase tickets online and FWISD also has a clear bag policy for entrance into the stadium.
