Lady Rams Run Over Brownwood, Face Glen Rose Today

By Amy Bearden
Lady Ram Volleyballers grabbed their first District win this week against Brownwood moving them to 19-10 on the season. Varsity swept the Lions in three sets 25-9, 25-11 and 25-12. The Junior Varsity and Freshman teams won their matches as well.
Coach Kimberly Branch has helped turn the volleyball program around this year and the Lady Rams are seeing their first winning season since 2011.

Today they travel to Glen Rose looking for another win which would likely put them in a position to make the playoffs and that’s been the team’s goal since they started the season.
“A year ago if someone said the volleyball team would be making a run into the playoffs, most of us would have bet against it,” said Athletic Director Seth Hobbs, who has a daughter on the team.
“Branch is doing a phenomenal job with the program so be sure you all tell her and her staff that they are doing a great job if you see them,” said Hobbs. “The patterns they are running and the way they are moving on the court is really impressive.
The Lady Rams had a special night before the Brownwood game as they hosted Teacher Appreciation Night and celebrated an educator that had made an impact in their life.
Tonight the Lady Rams hope to move to 2-2 in District. The Varsity match starts at 4:30 in Glen Rose with the JV and Freshman to follow.
