Late Night Altercation Leads to Arrest of Two Men, Leaving 60-Year-Old Man In ICU

Over the weekend Mineral Wells Police arrested 31-year-old Ryan Hill and 30-year-old Tanner Woodring for allegedly assaulting an older gentleman outside of Whataburger in Mineral Wells. There is no information regarding the reason for the fight and MWPD has released a statement which is included below.

Hill has been charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Woodring with Assault Causing Bodily Harm according to the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s records. Both men remain in Palo Pinto County jail waiting for their arraignment.

Two men have been charged and wait arraignment in Palo Pinto County Jail while the victim remains hospitalized in Fort Worth

At approximately 1:37 am on December 18, 2022, officers with the Mineral Wells Police Department were dispatched to the 2500 block of E. Hubbard for a report of an assault. Officers arrived and secured the scene and found a white male in his late 50s lying on the pavement, unconscious but still breathing. Mineral Wells EMS arrived on the scene, and the male was flown to a nearby trauma hospital, where he is listed in Critical Condition.


When the officers arrived, they observed two males fighting with a large crowd. Officers were able to secure the scene and detain the two males. An investigation began, and it was determined that the two males fighting the large crowd of people were allegedly responsible for the assault. They were arrested, one for Aggravated Assault and the other for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
