MWPD PRESS RELEASE :

Shortly after 7:00 am on January 5, 2023 Mineral Wells Police Department Dispatch center received a 911 call advising someone had been shot. While officers were en route to the 200 block of NW 25th Street, the dispatch center received a call from Palo Pinto General Hospital advising an individual with a gunshot wound was seeking medical treatment. The suspect was located several blocks away and was taken into custody. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by air ambulance to a nearby trauma center. His condition is currently unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
