Bond Set for Shooting Suspect
A judge has set a bond for Ronnie Lee Montgomery who was arrested on January 5 in Mineral Wells for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Deadly Conduct-Discharging a Firearm after an early morning incident that sent a man to the hospital.
The 30-year-old remains in custody at Palo Pinto County Jail with a combined total bond of $300,000. He was arrested by MWPD near the 200 block of NW 25th Street after someone reported hearing gunshots fired.
Upon dispatch to the scene, police were notified that a male victim in his 30s was seeking treatment for gunshot wounds at Palo Pinto General Hospital. Montgomery was located several blocks away and was taken into custody. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by air ambulance to a nearby trauma center. Sources close to the case say the victim is expected to survive.
