School Cancelled for Winter Weather
MWISD announced just after 5am that all campuses in the district will be closed on Monday January 30 due to winter weather conditions. Soon after the announcement, all other schools in the area began to make the same announcement.
“Due to the ice and rapidly deteriorating road conditions, MWISD will be closed today, Monday, January 30, 2023. All after-school activities have been canceled,” announced Superintendent John Kuhn.
Graford, Garner, Palo Pinto, Santo, Gordon, Millsap, Community Christian and Weatherford College, along with most campuses in the region, have closed their doors after a wintery blast moved into the area overnight. Conditions are not expected to improve throughout the day.
According to Texas Storm Chasers, this icy storm will impact the North Texas area and travel in region could be difficult due to ice on the roadways. Conditions are not expected to improve until Wednesday.
