We realize that it might not be breaking news for most, and some of you may not even know it’s even been out of stock for months, but for all of the Chicken Express regulars, they will be glad to know that their favorite seasoning, Serendipity Seasoned Salt, will be back at the restaurants starting tomorrow, March 22.

Joe Rincon, who works for the Chicken Express store located at Interstate 20 and Highway 281, let the public know via Facebook that the little packets of spices will be delivered to many stores overnight.

“Tomorrow will be the re-birth of serendipity. Our trucks start rolling it out tonight. Here in Santo we will get it tomorrow Mineral Wells should get theirs tonight,” said Rincon.

Serendipity Salt has long been a staple for many that dine on fried chicken and has been served complimentary since the inception of Chicken Express in 1988.

The spice is actually made by the Jess Hall Spice Co and has been around since 1972 and a long time sidekick of fried chicken houses throughout the South.

Fans of the spice were devastated to hear the company went into bankruptcy in early 2023 and back stocks of the seasoning flew off shelves everywhere, fearing the spice would soon disappear, and it did just that, sending Amazon and eBay customers paying precious pennies for their favorite salt.

Fear No More….at least if your not a Chicken E customer!

Whether you dump the mystery spice in your gravy or shake it directly on your perfectly fried chicken, the Holy Grail of seasoning is back!!

You know what is also back for Chicken E? 32nd All-Star Classic.
