MWPD Locate Stolen Vehicle, Make Arrest & Recover More Stolen Property

This morning officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at 0600 hours. The vehicle was a blue Dodge Stratus. At approximately 0729 hours an Officer observed a vehicle matching the description driving southbound on Energy Ave. The Officer followed the vehicle until he was able to confirm it was the license plate of the stolen vehicle. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Super 8 motel where the suspect, Allen Shay Warren, exited the driver’s seat and attempted to hide from the Officer by crouching between vehicles. Warren was located and placed under arrest for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle.
While Officers were processing the vehicle, a separate burglary of a vehicle call came into dispatch where a firearm was stolen.
Officers performed an inventory of the stolen vehicle Warren was driving and located a chrome and black Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol. The pistol was confirmed to be the stolen pistol from the burglary call. Other stolen items were located inside the vehicle as well.
Allen was booked in the Palo Pinto County Jail for Unauthorize Use of Vehicle and Unlaw Carrying of Weapon. Other charges are pending further investigation.
