The MWISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Cody Worrell to lead the district as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.

Worrell was joined today by his family, including his dad Chad Worrell, as he signed his new contract to lead the Mineral Wells Rams. Cody had coached under his dad Chad for 12 years prior to accepting this job. They won a state title together in 2015 at Brock ISD where they started and developed the football program in 2011.

Today 35-year-old Cody Worrell will step out of the shadows of his dad and begin to lead Mineral Wells ISD Athletics under new direction. He starts on May 8th.

MWAN broke the story last night. You can read our Scoop about Coach Worrell Here or you can watch our Facebook Live VIdeo of Meeting and at 22 minutes the board returns from their closed session and make announcement.
