MWISD Releases Statement:
Mineral Wells ISD wants to address an incident that occurred during this morning’s drop-off at Lamar Elementary.
Regrettably, one of our students was involved in an accident and was hit by a county transit vehicle. We want to assure you that our dedicated staff members at Lamar acted swiftly and responsibly in response to this unfortunate incident. Emergency medical personnel are currently attending to the student, ensuring they receive the necessary care and attention.
We understand that news of such incidents can be distressing, but please be assured that we are doing everything within our power to support the student, their family, and our school community during this difficult time.
Our primary focus right now is on the well-being of the student, and we are working closely with local authorities and emergency responders to ensure all necessary steps are being taken. Additionally, we are providing support and counseling resources for students and staff who may be affected by this incident.
