Somebody should have called 9-1-1 for the Cougars
It might have been First Responder Night in Crazy Town as the Rams took on Western Hills, but in no way did they need any rescuing! Read the game update and watch our post game interview with Coach Cody Worrell.
The Rams rolled over the Cougars for the win with a 36-0 shutout, moving them to 2-0 on the season. And while some big rushing plays put the Rams on the scoreboard, it was the passing game that really showed big improvements.

After going 0-4 in pass completions in the first game, Quarterback Owen Gadd seemed to find his groove during the second one.
MWAN asked Coach Worrell what he was pleased about the game.
“Owen Gadd played great. Owen had a big night. He didn’t complete a past last week and everyone was like man what are we doing, and I said man Owens our guy and I think he showed everyone the why I keep saying that,” Worrell said at the end of the game.

Gadd was 6 for 6 in passing, hitting Preztynn Harrison 3 times. averaging 25 yards and connected for three touchdowns. The Junior Quarterback also completed throws to PR Mendez and Braden Ethridge, each over 30 yards for total of 151 passing yards.

Coach Worrell was pleased with a 2-0 start but said there is still much work to do.
“We still haven’t played a solid four quarters so that’s what we are going to focus on. If we are going to beat Benbrook, that’s what we are going to have to do,” the Head Coach said.

The Rams are on the road this week and will take on the Bobcats Friday night in Benbrook. The next home game is September 15th and it’s Homecoming.
Other Notables
On offense Jose Garcia led with 152 rushing yards in 16 carries, averaging 9 yards each time. Jovan Ramirez ran for 111 yards in 9 attempts and PR Mendez ran the ball 7 times for 37 yards.
Senior Braden Ethridge had 3 tackles and a touchdown while Kaidin Kaspar had 2 tackles and a 2-point conversion, sneaking in after the fake punt.
