RANGER – Gordon quarterback Noah Kostiha threw three touchdown passes and Stryker Reed ran for two and threw another as America’s top-ranked six-man team silenced the Ranger Bulldogs, 54-0, on Friday.
Receiver Brayden Walters was the recipient of the first two touchdown tosses. Aiden Shark capped the night’s scoring with an interception returned for a touchdown.
The Longhorns dominated on both sides of the ball during the two-quarter contest. Ranger’s offense mustered just 10 total yards on 29 plays, including 22 rushes netting just 6 yards. The Bulldogs registered no first downs and threw two interceptions.
The shutout was Gordon’s second straight and fourth in their last five games. Eight games into the season, the ‘Horns have outscored their opponents 447-34, playing into the third quarter just once.

In typical fashion, Gordon needed 10 plays to score its six offensive TDs while racking up 205 total yards.
Friday was Kostiha’s night to shine. The junior quarterback was 3-of-4 passing for 134 yards and three scores. Stryker Reed had one pass complete for a 32-yard touchdown and threw one interception.
Gordon’s four first-quarter touchdowns all came through the air. The first three came off Kostiha’s fingertips. He had a 45-yard and a 33-yard scoring pass to Walters before he and Ry Reed connected on a 57-yard TD reception. Stryker Reed’s 32-yard pass to Aiden Shank for a touchdown put Gordon on top 30-0 after the opening frame.
The second quarter saw touchdown runs of 8 and 15 yards by Stryker Reed and Shank’s 25-yard interception return for a touchdown.
The win improved the defending state champs to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in District 13-1A-1. The ‘Horns have won 23 consecutive games and 35 of their last 36 contests.

Ranger fell to 2-5 and 0-1.
With a bye week, Gordon will next face Baird at Longhorns Stadium on Nov. 1 with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. They then travel to Gorman for the regular season finale.
