Parker-Hannifin Honors Veterans, Donates to National Vietnam War Museum

Local business Parker-Hannifin recently hosted its first-ever Veterans Recognition Event, organized by the company’s newly formed Veterans Business Resource Group to honor employees and community members who have served in the armed forces.
The company is headquartered right outside the former military base known as Fort Wolters, which was once a bustling military hub in Mineral Wells.
As part of the special program held on May 1, Parker-Hannifin also presented a donation to the National Vietnam War Museum, which is an amazing treasure to the local community rich military history.

The local museum continues to expand its efforts to preserve and honor the legacy of Vietnam War veterans.
The ceremony at Parker-Hannifin featured remarks from veterans and company leaders, as well as a formal presentation of the colors by the Weatherford Patriot Squadron Color Guard.

The cadets were tasked with supporting both indoor and outdoor activities for the program and had to adapt in real time as event logistics shifted unexpectedly.
“Things don’t always go the way we want, but we still have to get the job done,” said one of the squadron’s leaders. “This is why we train.”

The Color Guard’s participation underscored the importance of youth-led civic engagement. With no JROTC or ROTC programs in Parker or Palo Pinto counties, the Weatherford Patriot Squadron provides one of the few structured, military-affiliated leadership opportunities for local students.
Parker-Hannifin’s Veterans Business Resource Group plans to continue fostering veteran support and expanding community partnerships through future outreach initiatives.
