Jerry Lee VanNatta, 79, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Mineral Wells, TX. He was born on September 4, 1945, in Mineral Wells, where he spent his life serving his community and country.


Jerry graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1963, and after working at City National Bank, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965. He proudly served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. After returning home, Jerry entered the pump and pipe industry, where he worked for many years.

In 1973, Jerry joined the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department, dedicating 43 years of service, which included roles in every capacity, eventually serving as Volunteer Fire Chief. His commitment and leadership were recognized when he was selected as the first paid Fire Chief and Fire Marshal of the City of Mineral Wells Fire Department in 1989.

After retiring from public service in 2016, Jerry worked as a realtor in Palo Pinto County and continued to assist those around him, often offering help without being asked.
Throughout his life, Jerry was most proud of his faith. He was a devoted member of Indian Creek Baptist Church, where he gave his life to his Lord and Savior.


Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Dorothy Agnes VanNatta, and his brother, Jack VanNatta. He is survived by his loving wife, Ronda VanNatta; his sister, Linda Fischer; Sister-in-Law, Gwen VanNatta; son, Kim-John VanNatta and wife Leah; stepdaughter, Amy Lyn Coker; stepson, Michel Brent Burleson and wife Chanda; grandchildren, Bailey Elizabeth VanNatta, Jacoby Andrew Branam, Katie Lyn Coker, and Brooklyn Hope Burleson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.


A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Indian Creek Baptist Church, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place immediately following at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells.
