Santo Ranch Wins “Best In Show” at State Fair Photo Contest

TTT Ranch in Santo is proud to announce their winning entries for the 2021 State Fair of Texas. “Sugar Rush” garnered a 3rd Place win in the Professional Color, Animals category.
“Rio at Sunset” placed 1st in the Professional Color, Any Subject category, as well as being awarded the coveted “Best In Show” ribbon in the Professional Color Class.
Jovelyn Roden is a photographer who specializes in adult portraits and longhorns.

“I normally specialize in adult portraiture, but in 2020, I experienced a slow down due to Covid. Without people to shoot, I turned my eye to the longhorns that we raise on our family ranch. I take the same composition and lighting principles that I use on people, and apply them to taking striking portraits of longhorns, in effect showing the beautiful individuality of each animal,”said Roden.
She also serves as VP of Exhibitions for the Parker County Camera Club, whose members took home a total of 23 awards at this year’s State Fair of Texas 2021 competition.
The Professional Color Portrait Class was also swept by the Parker County Club, as well being recipients of both Best-of-Show titles in the Professional Division. Caroline Mitchell Vaughn of Perrin won Best Of Show in the Professional Black and White Class.
The State Fair of Texas is held at Fair Park in Dallas and runs from September 24th through October 17th. The winning entries will be on view in the Creative Arts Building for the duration of the event.
