Quarterback Jackson Horton threw for 566 yards completing 22 of 33 passes and 9 touchdowns in the Community Christian Warriors 88-54 win over Stephenville Faith. The Warriors moved to 2-0 on the year.

William Goree played a big part in the win with eight receptions for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns. Christian Crawford and Hayden Hasenjager each had 2 touchdowns. Hasenjager had 5 catches for 185 yards while Crawford also had 5 receptions for 76 yards.

Horton didn’t just do it through the air. He also rushed for 189 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown. He had 755 total yards on offense and had 2 interceptions on defense. Crawford led the defense with 13 tackles while Goree added 6 tackles.

Confident in the future for the season, Football Coach Brian Horton praised the team. “This team has a chance to be a special one. Last night’s win was a great step in that direction. It was a complete team win and really personified what these guys are about. Doesn’t matter who scores, it’s that we score and you can see across the board every guy is doing his dead level best on every play to make that happen. I love having a team where they hold each other accountable to excellence and still pick each other up when there’s a mistake,” Coach Horton stated.

The Warriors will travel to Perrin on Friday, September 10 for 7:30 kickoff against the Pirates.
