This evening after a special meeting by the City Council, Mineral Wells City Manager Randy Criswell’s resignation was announced.

Mayor Reagan Johnson said Criswell served the city for over two years and has done an outstanding job during his time here.

“During his tenure we accomplished many goals including economic development reform, economic development agreements with the Baker Hotel, Crazy Water Plaza, and Resinating, LLC. He oversaw several complex infrastructure improvements including the downtown streetscape improvements and ongoing street and utility bond program. One of the things we know he is most proud of during his time here is the empowerment and engagement of our city employees of whom he was a constant champion,” Johnson said.

Citing a personal family situation, Criswell will be relocating near his home in the panhandle. He will remain on staff through November 12, 2021. Mayor Johnson said the council will give an update about an interim manger when it is available.
