MW Inclusion League Kicks Off
By Amy Bearden/Mineral Wells Area News

For the second year in a row, the Mineral Wells Inclusion League gives everyone a chance to hit the hardwood and play some basketball.
League organizer Sheena Chan, who also teaches special education for the school district, decided last year to put together a team for anyone that has special challenges but wanted to play. This season, Chan says participation in the league almost doubled from last year.

Jessica Felton, whose 10-year-old son Blayne plays in the inclusion league told MWAN that it’s an incredible experience he has never had.
“Last year he was able to get in the pool for swim team but this is different. This is the first time he could really play in a team sport,” said Felton through her tears, explaining what the league meant to her family.

Through Chan, parents and a whole bunch of volunteers, the joy in these kids can be seen every Saturday at 12:00pm in the Mineral Wells High School gymnasium throughout the season.
