Covid Vaccines for Kids Available this Weekend

Covid vaccines for kids are on their way to Palo Pinto County
Starting this weekend parents in the community can begin getting their children ages 5-11 protected against COVID-19 by getting them a vaccine. This week the CDC and FDA gave full approval for Pfizer to roll out the vaccine, citing clinical trails that found it both safe and more than 90 percent effective in preventing symptomatic infection in kids.
The CDC now recommends that all children ages 5 and up get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Palo Pinto General Hospital will be giving COVID-19 vaccines to children ages 5-11 at the following dates and times. Please note that no other vaccines will be given on these dates. No appointment is necessary and there will be pediatricians on site to answer any questions.

MWAN also spoke to the pharmacy at Walmart in Mineral Wells and they have shipments of the vaccine ordered and anticipate they will begin administering the shot very soon as well. The Walmart pharmacy said to check their local Facebook page for availability but say it could start their vaccine clinic as early as this weekend if they get the supplies.
