19:28 2022

The City Council adopted Chapter 74 of its Code of Ordinances, which regulates the disposal and collection of solid waste within the City. On January 18, 2022, the City entered into a Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Contract with Frontier Texas Ventures I, LLC, granting Frontier the exclusive right to provide solid waste collection and disposal services within the City beginning March 1, 2022. The proposed ordinance updates and amends Chapter 74 of the Code of Ordinances to comply with the City’s new contract with Frontier.

On Tuesday February 1, the Council will vote on the new ordinance and will also confirm public meetings in February to discuss the new trash services set to begin in the city on March 1. Frontier personnel have agreed to attend and field questions regarding its new service at three separate town hall meetings.

The first will be held February 3 at 6:30 pm in the Mineral Wells High School Cafeteria for residents in the northern part of the city. The second will be February 10 at 6:30 pm at Lamar Elementary School for residents in the south. On February 17, at 12:00 pm and 5:30 pm in the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce Community Room, commercial customers can have their questions answered.

The following document explains the fees and services that will be set by the council.
