This weekend MGM Studios releases a new movie called Dog that’s sure to have animal lovers heading to the theater, however in Mineral Wells at Brazos Cinema, it’s more than just a movie weekend. It’s also an opportunity to gather food for the local animal shelter.

This weekend February 18-20, moviegoers who bring a can or bag of pet food to the theater will not only receive a free bucket of popcorn, they also will help out Mineral Wells Animal Shelter. All donations will contribute to feeding animals at the shelter.

The family friendly film stars Channing Tatum as a solder on a canine adventure. With a dog named Lulu by his side, Army Ranger Briggs races down the Pacific Coast to make it to a soldier’s funeral on time. Along the way, Briggs and Lulu drive each other completely crazy, break a handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

The film can be seen at 4:45pm, 7:15pm and 9:45pm on Friday. Five showings take place on Saturday beginning at 11:45am and then four more screenings on Sunday. Click Here for Showtimes
