Twila Nadeene Pruitt passed away at home, surrounded by her children, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born June 8, 1947 to Martin and Elizabeth June Downs Barefoot. Twila was born in Gorman and raised in DeLeon. She married Troy Pruitt on September 5, 1964 and they lived in Mineral Wells for 56 years. Twila and Troy were foster parents for 21 years, taking in over 300 children and adopting 3 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Pruitt; parents, Martin and Elizabeth June Barefoot; sister, Maryetta Pair; brother, Eddie Martin Barefoot and wife Lea. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her 3 adopted children, Mary Nadeene Wadley, Keith Gene Pruitt, and Summer Leann Pruitt; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Joseph, Sandy, Tanner, JR, Elizabeth, and Tiffany; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Barefoot and wife Sherrie and Kerry Barefoot and wife Lana; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Willow Pond Cemetery.
