Tree Falls Into MW Home
Mineral Wells Fire Department responded to a call in the 1200 Block of SE 17th Street that reported a tree had fallen into a home.
Joyce Enriquez was inside of her house when she heard a huge thump on the roof of her trailer home. No one was reportedly injured.
“It shook the whole place,” said Enriquez from inside her car.
According to her, a large tree adjacent to the property had been leaning on a fence and really needed to be cut down but said it was too late.
It appears a fence supporting the tree clearly failed and landed on the carport and the roof of her home.
MWFD told her the home was no longer safe and any more structural failure could possibly trap her inside of her home so she chose to leave. They waited for her to secure some belongings and then hung caution tape near the tree and carport before clearing the scene.
When MWAN spoke to Enriquez she was going to have to find a hotel room for the mean time as the the home is now inhabitable. She says it’s owned by her 70 year old father-in-law and is not insured.
