County Annex Getting Snack Machine

While this story might not seem like a big important headline, it was the sweet face of a young entrepreneur courageously speaking in front of the Palo Pinto County Commissioner’s Court at a recent meeting that caught our attention.

Standing in front of the court room is a nerve racking fete for grown adults, let alone a child.

Maybe he got his braveness from his dad? It definitely could be the DNA. Dad is Mineral Wells Fire Chief Ryan Dunn, who has been fighting fires for 17 years.

12-year-old Entrepreneur Rayden Dunn with his dad Ryan requested County Commissioner’s add a snack machine at the new County Annex

The chief stood alongside his 12-year-old son Rayden as he addressed the body of elected officials. Judge Shane Long commended the young man.

The court learned Rayden and his family had acquired a family business overseeing snack vending machines and have moved the operations closer to Palo Pinto County from the metroplex.

It was a recent tour of the newly renovated County Annex building, bright with fresh paint, led by Judge Long, that Rayden and his dad noticed something during their tour of the new place.

There was no snack machine in the whole building, not even in the employee’s break room.

The Dunn’s obviously had a solution to offer.

Rayden and his brother are part-owners of the Snacky Snack Vending Company, with dad’s watchful eye.

It’s certainly a family affair.

“His little brother Reece is also part owner in the company and he is nine. I am letting them lead with strict oversight,” Chief Dunn laughed.

The young Dunn at the podium bravely asked if the court would allow them to install a vending machine at the new building.

Rayden told the court that through technology he can manage the content of the machines with an Ap on his phone and is alerted when it needs to be restocked or serviced.

The court granted the young entrepreneur’s request and gave him permission to place a snack machine inside the new Annex.

As Rayden exited the court room smiling, it sounded like his side-hustle was off to a great start.

Sheriff Brett Maguire let him know the County Jail was also in need of a machine.
