Merry Wells is always a fun time for families to kick off the Holiday Season. Activities throughout downtown, shopping, visiting with Santa and of course the biggest highlight of it all, the lighted Christmas parade, but this year Merry Wells is taking holiday fun to a whole other level.

Lace up your skates and get ready for Mineral Wells on Ice

Mineral Wells is getting an ice skating rink for the holiday season and on Fridays it’s FREE for kids in Palo Pinto County.

Merry Wells shared the following on their website:

The Mineral Wells Main Street Program, Envision Mineral Wells Foundation, and the Merry Wells Committee all share a common mission; to create opportunities that better the quality of life in our community. This holiday season we are excited to bring ice skating to Mineral Wells for the first time ever with Merry Wells on Ice!

The state-of-the-art synthetic ice skating rink will be located in Historic Downtown Mineral Wells in Poston Square from Nov 26th – Dec 23rd. Kids 14 years old or younger that are residents of Palo Pinto County will ice skate for FREE every Friday and there will be community-centered events each weekend. Currently, Main Street is working to partner Merry Wells on Ice with other local non-profit organizations such as Backpack Buddies, Child Advocacy Center, and United Way to make sure any member of our community who wants to ice skate has an opportunity to do so. There will be ADA sleds, and kids skating support penguins available at the ice skating rink as all entities involved strive to make Merry Wells on Ice an all-inclusive activity.

Special dates will soon be announced for events such as clothing and toy drives, where donations will be accepted in exchange for free ice skating passes. For more information visit the Merry Wells on Ice Facebook page!

The rink will open the same day as Merry Wells, Saturday, November 26 at 12pm until 10pm and tickets go on sale tomorrow. The cost is $10 for an all day pass for kids 14 and under who live in Palo Pinto County and $15 for all others that live here. A Non-Resident All Day Pass is $13 for kids 14 and below and $18 for all others. All kids in PPC skate free on Friday.

The rink will be open Thursday-Sunday each week and closes for the season on December 23. Be sure to check out Merry Wells for all the details.
