MWISD Board Hires New Executive Director

Mineral Wells ISD is pleased to welcome Kenzie King as the new Executive Director of Assessment and Counseling. She comes to MWISD from Three Way ISD and brings sixteen years of experience in education. The MWISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday evening (December 12, 2022) to hire King for the position.
“This is my 16th year serving Texas Public School students,” said King. “I have served students as a teacher, coach, counselor, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. I have worked in small, middle, and large-sized schools throughout the metroplex. I feel extremely blessed to join Mineral Wells ISD and become a Ram. I look forward to building lasting relationships and supporting staff, parents, and students”.
Kenzie attended Southern Methodist University for her undergraduate degree as a part of the girls’ basketball program, Lamar University, and Angelo State University for a master’s degree in both administration and counseling and is currently completing her dissertation work at Tarleton State University for a Doctorate in Education. She is married to Derelle King and they have four children. Asya (17) Kolby (11) Maddux (7) and Carter (4). They love spending their time with the various sports their kids play and attending local sporting events.
“The entire MWISD family welcomes Mrs. King to the team,” said Dr. John Kuhn. “We are beyond excited to have her bring her experience and skillsets to bear for the benefit of our students.”
