WEST OF US-281 IN NORTH TEXAS, WARNING PROMPTS COUNTY ACTION
Weather Warnings were enough for Palo Pinto County Commissioner’s to call a special meeting today to take action regarding the burn ban.
The Commissioner’s unanimously voted to reinstate a county wide Burn Ban. Burning is currently not permitted in Palo Pinto County until further notice.

CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED ALONG AND WEST OF
US-281 WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING
A Pacific cold front will move through the region tonight through Wednesday morning. Sustained west winds between 10-20 mph and
gusts up to 30 mph are expected behind the front through the afternoon hours. In combination with afternoon relative humidity
values falling below 20 percent and dry fuels, critical fire weather conditions will be possible.
Avoid any activities that could lead to the ignition and rapid spread of wildfires.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
- WINDS…West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
- RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 15 percent.
- IMPACTS…Any wildfires that develop could be difficult to control and will likely spread rapidly.
