Spring Clean-Up Day Set for May 3 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County

MINERAL WELLS, Texas — It’s time for some spring cleaning across Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County.
The City of Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County will host their annual Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items and clear out clutter.
Mineral Wells residents should bring a current water bill and driver’s license to the city drop-off site at 2700 U.S. Highway 281 South, located behind the Animal Shelter. Only Mineral Wells residents will be allowed to use this location.

County residents living outside Mineral Wells can take their items to their designated precinct barn. A map is available on the county’s website at http://www.co.palo-pinto.tx.us, and the drop-off locations are:
Precinct 1: 1348 Palo Pinto Hwy (Dempsey Facility) Precinct 2: 11225 Hwy 337 (Graford) Precinct 3: 101 Elm St (Mingus) Precinct 4: 52 Panama Rd (Santo)
Important Reminders:
Tires without rims will be accepted only at Dempsey and Graford facilities. Fees are $3 per tire up to 17 inches, $5 per tire over 17 inches, and $50 per tractor tire. Payments must be made by check to Palo Pinto County. Electronic recycling will be available at all sites. Accepted items include TVs, computers, office equipment, small appliances, and cell phones. Residents must bag all small, loose items and trash before drop-off.

Certain items will not be accepted, including business or contractor waste, shingles, boats, cars, paint, batteries, and medical or bio-hazard materials.
Mineral Wells residents can also schedule free bulk curbside pickup through Frontier Waste Solutions year-round by calling (940) 328-7720. For year-round recycling of paper, cardboard, metals, and plastics, drop-off is available at 401 FM 2256.

Meanwhile, the City Brush Pile has new operating hours at 400 FM 2256, just past the Animal Shelter:
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
