2nd Annual BBQ Cook-Off & Bluegrass Festival Mar. 4

Mineral Wells hosts BBQ Cook-off and Bluegrass Festival
On Saturday, March 4th, the 2nd annual Smokin’ Hot BBQ Cook-off and Bluegrass Festival returns to Western Heritage Park (formerly known as Lions Park) in Mineral Wells.
“This whole thing started as a way for some buddies to get together and do some pickin’ and smoke some meat,’” said festival co-founder Bob Kaspar. “We were absolutely blown away by the response from our community.”
The first festival brought in a crowd of over 120 people. Kaspar and his wife Carol, who co-founded the event, expect at least that many this year.

“Our cook-off is so unique because our winners are decided by our visitors. They literally get a chance to go around and try entries from each competitor and vote for their favorite. That really seemed to resonate with people,” said Carol.
The festival also features 3 hours of live music headlined by local favorite Shine.

“If you havent heard them, they’re absolutely incredible,” raved Bob. “Plus we have a jam session, Celtic dance lessons, and a mall with local vendors like GI Jerky, Forgotten Trail Candy, and the Southern Sno Co. Trust me, this is one you won’t want to miss.”
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
