MWHS Principal Resigns
Mineral Wells Area News has confirmed that Dr. Doug Funk will be resigning as the Principal of Mineral Wells High School at the end of this school year.
Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn stated in an email that Funk has resigned and he has appointed someone to the position.
“I can confirm that Dr. Funk has resigned effective the end of the year. I have promoted Shanna Spillers to take his place next year,” stated Kuhn.
Spillers currently serves as the principal at the Mineral Wells Junior High Campus.
“I am looking forward to new opportunities and challenges and have absolutely loved my time here,” stated Dr. Funk.
Dr. Funk’s last day will be June 30 and due to his own daughter’s High School Graduation, he will not be attending the MWHS ceremony.
