JUVENILE INJURED IN LATE NIGHT SHOOTING

MINERAL WELLS, TEXAS -On May 13, 2023, just after 10:30 pm, Officers with the Mineral Wells Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of NE 7th Avenue regarding a shots fired call. When Officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old male victim who
had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was treated on scene prior to being flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment.

The shooting suspect fled the scene before Officers arrived. The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Ethan Allen Plyler of Mineral Wells. Officers continued the investigation into the shooting where they obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect from the office of Precinct 5
Justice of the Peace. The warrant issued for Ethan’s arrest was for one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Officers worked in conjunction with the Palo Pinto County Juvenile Probation Office, as Ethan was actively serving a probation sentence at the time of
the shooting. Conditions of Ethan’s probation required him to wear a location tracking ankle monitor. The following morning on May 14, 2023, Ethan was located by Officers in the 800 block of SE 8th Street, where he was placed under arrest without incident.

Ethan cooperated with the investigation, where he disclosed the location of the firearm that was used in the
shooting. The firearm was located and collected as evidence. Ethan is currently booked-in at Palo Pinto County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The victim in this case has since been released from the hospital and is expected to recover.
