Hometown Musical Legend Could Win a Tony Award Tonight

He already has a Grammy Award to his name, and tonight Mineral Wells music sensation Shane McAnally could take home another coveted trophy.

McAnally, along with Co-writer Brandy Clark, are nominated for a Tony Award for their original song “Independently Owned” from the hit Broadway musical Shucked. McAnally and Clark wrote the music and lyrics for the entire show which made its debut this past April in New York City and is up for 9 Tony awards tonight June 11th.

The 76th Tony Awards are taking place tonight at the United Palace in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood. The awards ceremony, which honors plays and musicals that opened on Broadway between April 29, 2022, and April 27, 2023, will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS and streamed on Paramount+
